"great location and superb breakfast!" The first impression of the Crown Plaza Cologne is that of a soviet building from the late 60s or early 70s! It looks attrited from outside (also inside my room) but this will hopefully change soon as i was told by the receptionist that the hotelrooms were in the process of being refurbished. Also to my annoyance at the time of my visit the cleaning staff forgot to clean the bathroom before my arrival. As I got to the room I found empty shampoo bottles from the last guest inside the tub! But after a short phone call cleaning stuff was on site immediately and cleaned the bathroom! But no regrets from the hotel! (A free coffe might have been a nice guesture for the inconvinience) A real plus that made up for a lot of incontinences is the hotels great location in downtown Cologne! With best access to public transport! (although one might wish that the parking garage would be free for the hotel guests as it costs about 30€ per day!) Another big plus for me was the great breakfast buffet! One of the best i got in a long time which led no wishes open! Altogether the Crown Plaza was a fine Hotel which gave a good value for its money (especially as it should be refurbished by now)

"Great location" This hotel is well located,close to the railway station and a stones throw away from the Catheral,or if you are going in December --- to the Christmas markets. Room was a little small but clean and well presented. The Hotel restaurent is excellent.We ate there 2 nights and had no complaints.It was also good value. A smile or two would not go astray at the reception area

"brilliant in everyway." the staff were curtious. the room was large and very clean. i did not find it expensive for the quality. i would stay again if i went to koln and would recommend this hotel to anyone. food was plentiful. i cant praise this hotel enough.

"Crowne Plaza - Very Good" Excellent hotel in a very good location. Lots of bars and shops around and about a 20 min walk to the Cathedral. Rooms are very clean and spacious with good facilities. Nice reception and bar area. A big plus point is the superb leisure faciliities, which inlcude a gym, sauna, solarium and a great swimming pool. For the price, this hotel is a bargain.

"Crowne Plaza, cologne - great hotel" stayed here for 3 nights in 2004. Terrific hotel - very high standard, nice big rooms with all the usual facilities you would expect of a hotel at this level. You can often get quite competitive rates. I have to disagree with the review that suggests the hotel is not a long way from the centre as it is at least a 15/20 minute walk to the Dom and Railway station. However that said this is **NOT** an issue as there is public transport on the doorstep that can get you anywhere in no time - Huemarkt is just one stop away and this stop is literraly the centre of the public transport network. Fabulous hotel very highly recommended

"Excellent Hotel and close to the Christmas markets" Have just come back from Cologne, excellent Hotel, right on the doorstep of 2 Christmas Markets and across the road from tram and bus stops. Breakfast buffet excellent with huge choice. Room excellent, clean and well appointed (ours had view of Dom). Dont ask reception for Taxi, they use Private Hire which costs almost double.
