"was quite comfy"
Hyatt Regency Cologne Hotel's room was large for a European hotel room, and the bathroom was very spacious, with a separate shower and tub. The beds were a little hard, but generally fine. The bedding looked and felt very new and was quite comfy.

"Hyatt Regency Cologne Hotel is excellent"
Hyatt Regency Cologne Hotel is excellent. The room was immaculate, and every member of staff was polite, helpful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. Check in was easy and fast.

"Fantastic, Fabulous, Flawless"
We stayed at the Hyatt in mid August on recommendation from a business colleague who lives near the hotel. It was top notch. The service was flawless. Our suite -- booked the week prior by Mick Jagger - was AMAZING. We had a fully stocked and complimentary bar with a wide variety of snacks. We were welcomed with a fabulous amenity every day. The room was directly accross from the cathedral with fantastic views. The breakfast and drinks in the concierge suite was wonderful as well. While at the hotel we enjoyed room service which was again not only wonderfully perpared but wisked to our suite in what seemed like a few minutes. The staff at this hotel could not be more helpful. They know their city well, are well versed in arranging reservations for just about anything. Since we were traveling to other cities and to Austria before returning to Cologne, the hotel not only offered to store our luggage, but they also recommended that we leave any laundry we had as well. On our return, the luggage was in our room, the laundry was clean and pressed ready to be packed for our return to the States. This hotel is absolutely first rate - convenient location, superb service and a joy to stay in. Would recommend it very much.

"New Year relaxation"
We decided to stay at this hotel as a New Year treat. It had been a long year and we really wanted to spoil ourselves. The entrance area is very nice and inviting. The staff were very friendly and helpful and everything was impeccably clean. Our room was also very nice, quite big, with plenty of room to move around. The bathroom was a little odd, modern but with old (not antique), fittings - not what I expected in a 5*. We had room service while we were there, and I have to say it was excellent, the food was hot and fresh and tasted very good. Our only dissappointment with the hotel was the wellness area - our main reason for staying. There were old towels strewn all over the place, with old coffee cups, spoons, water cups etc. left lying around. We assumed it had been busy and that one of the two staff looking after the desk in the area would come and tidy up - no. We stayed for approx. 2 hours and it was still the same when we left - neither of the staff had even entered the area. The pool was rather small, the area didn´t feel cosy and relaxing and it was also rather out-dated. Overall, the hotel was very nice, we had a good time and enjoyed ourselves, however I wouldn´t return again as we were dissapppointed with the outdated and rather small wellness area.

"Best Place to Stay in Cologne"
We stayed in Cologne for five days in April and were fortunate to stay at the Hyatt for four of those days. First forget about it being across the bridge. The view you have of the cathedral and the river from the hotel are fantastic and the walk across the bridge is fun and quick. You are quickly in the core of Cologne. You are also very close to the "little" train station if you are going anywhere by train.
The hotel room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The staff was uniformly excellent. The breakfast buffet is one of the best ever. We also had a couple of lunchs that were also very good.
Since we left to go to Prague but were flying back out from Cologne we stayed at the Hotel Maritime our last night since we wanted to try something different and the rate was better. Had we known then what we know now we would have gladly paid the higher rate to stay at the Hyatt.
