"Good Hotel" We chose this hotel for its convenient location beside the river and a ten minutes stroll from the Cathedral. Our room, on the third floor facing the Cathedral, was clean, comfortable and well maintained and equipped. The beds were comfortable with crisp cotton sheets and lightweight duvets and the bathroom was a good size, well lit and with a powerful shower over the bathtub. Staff were courteous and helpful. Breakfast included a good selection of both hot and cold items and there is a good choice of restaurants on site for other meals and snacks. We would be happy to return to this hotel.

"Great place at a good price" We stayed here for three days in July 2005 and enjoyed everything about it. The room was spacious and comfortable, security was much above-average, breakfast (included) was magnificent, and the staff was extremely polite and helpful. The hotel is very imposing, near the Rhine within a few blocks of the Cathedral and the Train Station. There are some fine German brewery-restaurants just a few steps away, as well as the main shopping areas and museums (the Roman-German collection is surprisingly large and varied--and there's a chocolate museum about a block away). We stayed in other German hotels that were a good deal more expensive but none could beat the Maritim for all-round quality and value. Frankly, I was expecting to spent $100 more per night. I joined the Maritim preferred customer club and look forward to visiting others.

"Great!" Perhaps it was because my friends and I had "backpacked" through three European countries with few luxuries, but walking into our rooms was such a relief. Rooms are clean, good-sized, and location was AWESOME. If you want good local beer, try a little pub on your left hand side as you walk out of the hotel. I believe they serve Muelen kolsch or something. The Cathedral was only a 7-10 minute walk and a major shopping area (Neumarkt) is only 10-15 minutes away. I would go back to Maritim in a heartbeat (especially at the fantastic price we found on Expedia!).
